Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years’ experience in metrology with programming skills in CALYPSO, Polyworks, PC-DMIS, or Metrologic and hands on experience using with CMMs, Laser Trackers, scanners or arms
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience creating and approving first article inspections with working knowledge of the tools required for inspection
  • Ability to identify/recognize inspection errors and nonconformances and initiate corrective action
  • Experience with MES systems and creating inspection plans electronically
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment in aerospace or other highly regulated environments
  • Ability to work within a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Quality Assurance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience creating real time dashboards using Sigma
  • Experience with developing/validating automated inspection equipment in a manufacturing environment including working with SQL languages
  • Experience with SAP

Responsibilities

  • Program and operate CMMs using CALYPSO, PC-DMIS or Metrologic software to create measurement routines.
  • Lead the establishment of an aircraft inspection plan including the programming of CMMs, laser trackers and other inspection tools
  • Interpret engineering drawings and translate them into CMM programs and inspection plans
  • Perform inspections of parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with design tolerances and specifications.
  • Record and maintain accurate inspection data and reports to support statistical process analysis
  • Regularly inspect and maintain CMM machines to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Ensure the CMM maintains calibration
  • Troubleshoot and resolve CMM-related issues as they arise
  • Ensure traceability of measurements and maintain compliance with company quality management systems
