THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS Job Position Summary: CMM Operator/Programmer will be responsible to operate and maintaining CMM equipment to inspect and measure manufactured parts ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications. Edits and writes CMM programs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Tech school preferred
  • Experience in CMM operation and use of relevant software applications.
  • Ability to use inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators.

  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
  • Required to pass annual eye exam by licensed optometrist.
  • Ability to edit and write CMM programs using software like PC-DMIS or Calypso to automate the measurement process
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Basic understanding of root cause and corrective action.
  • Ability to identify areas of improvement in the quality processes and implement strategies to enhance efficiency.
  • Ability to train other CMM Operators and Programmers.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Full knowledge of the process and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety regulations and standards.
  • Measure parts using a CMM to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Utilize basic math skills, blueprints reading, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on the CMM equipment.
  • Works with Machine Operators, Programming, Quality, and Management in order to produce acceptable products.
  • Documents inspection results and report discrepancies to senior operators or engineers.
  • Correlates CMM inspection data with hand inspection tools and/or plate inspections.
  • Operates within AS9100/ISO9001 requirements to include proper documentation, revision control, traceability and lot control.
  • Write and edit CMM programs using software like PC-DMIS or Calypso to automate the measurement process.
  • Troubleshoot quality issues and provide solutions.
  • Identifies areas for improvement in the quality processes and implements strategies to enhance efficiency.
  • Provide effective training for new and existing employees, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs.
  • Analyze measurement data from the CMM, document inspection results, generate reports, and report any discrepancies or issues to the quality or engineering team.
  • Work closely with machine operators, quality personnel, and engineers to ensure parts meet requirements.
  • Follow 6S procedures and maintain a clean organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
