This position performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacture of products. A person in this role inspects materials, parts and products at different stages of production, using a CMM or other gage to provide essential data for key component processes. A person in this role records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes. Must understand and follow Safety Rules and Responsibilities. Perform First Article Inspection Demonstrate proper use of various measurement tools (including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, CMM, Optical CMM etc.) Must able to identify in and out of specification parts to drawing specification. Can program CMMs to be able to measure parts correctly to specifications. Can edit program to ensure accurate operation of the CMM Perform and retain layouts for gages and calibrations Interface with Manufacturing and Engineering teams and provide technical voice to collaborations. May be required to provide Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) or gauge use training to others.
