About The Position

The CMM Inspector is accountable for the quality, cost and schedule of inspection operations for as-received, work-in-progress (WIP), and final inspections. The CMM Inspector is responsible for operating and maintaining a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to precisely measure In-Service Repair parts and New Manufacture parts against given criteria and/or models and producing reports of the results. The CMM Inspector position would also require Visual Parts Inspections, being accountable for complete inspection and shop traveler records and the issuance of “Certificates of Conformance” to the specified material condition requirements. Inspection scope includes repair and new make parts for both turbine engine parts and power generation package parts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, some college or trade school preferred.
  • Minimum (1) years' experience operating a Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM), some programming experience preferred.
  • Read and interpret drawing and specifications.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
  • Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check

  • Mechanical aptitude and use of common hand tools.
  • Experience with Camio software a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned tasks and interpret results of inspections

Responsibilities

  • Setting up and running the CMM machine to accurately measure parts using probes and fixtures.
  • Creating inspection programs using metrology software to guide the CMM through the necessary measurement points.
  • Recording and reviewing measurement data to identify deviations from specifications and report quality issues.
  • Performing routine checks and calibrations on the CMM to ensure accuracy.
  • Installing and adjusting fixtures to properly hold parts during inspection.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections.
  • Set up and calibrate dimensional equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects).
  • Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
  • Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
  • Organize, record, report and file inspection results.
  • Perform other job tasks as assigned by supervision.
  • Pass certification tests in applicable inspection methods to advance skills and position level.
  • Operate cranes and vehicles.
