About The Position

Shape quality from the first measurement — Charlotte, NC Picture your day starting on the production floor, safety glasses on, reviewing the day’s priorities. You queue up CMM routines, validate suspect measurements, and move seamlessly from a First Article Inspection to a receiving check on a critical component. Drawings, procedures, and work instructions guide your decisions as you protect our customers with precise visual, dimensional, and functional inspections. When something’s off, you act fast: initiate containment, collaborate on root-cause analysis, and help deploy Lean improvements that prevent recurrence. What you’ll tackle Measure parts efficiently and accurately; interpret CMM reports and confirm any outliers. Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections per drawings, procedures, and work instructions. Work to established SPI’s and Standard Work. Contribute to corrective and preventive actions; take part in structured problem solving for root-cause evaluation. Help implement Lean initiatives that improve flow and quality. Complete First Article and Receiving Inspections. Initiate containment upon discovery of Non-Conforming Material. Support departmental projects and conduct product/process inspections as directed. Champion safety requirements in everything you do; take on other duties as business needs evolve.

Requirements

  • Required 5+ years of related experience in a fast-paced machining environment.
  • Fluency in blueprint reading.
  • Ability to select and use appropriate measurement devices.
  • Ability to read and interpret CMM reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Desired 2-year Associate’s or technical degree.
  • Solid understanding of GD&T and datum structures; strong mechanical aptitude.
  • CMM programming experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with capability studies and Gage R&R.
