About The Position

As a CMM Inspector you will be responsible for setting up and inspecting aerospace components utilizing CMM and bench plate equipment. Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, industry standards and specifications. Must be able to provide proof of U.S. person status. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: First part inspection of machined parts utilizing DCC CMM’s and or manual inspection methods Final inspection of Aerospace product including dimensional and temper inspection Enter data using Syteline/ESI or other ERP systems as directed Arrange inspection work queues to identify priority work, move completed work to next staging area identify and segregate non-conforming product Understand and, under supervision, conduct product verification in accordance with inspection plans and applicable Primus process practices used in the work center Actively follow instructions as required in all aspects of the work assignment and have a working knowledge of common inspection measuring equipment including, but not limited to, surface plates, micrometers, height gauges, radius gauges, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and Coordinate Measuring Machines.. Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) methods per ASME 14.5
  • Good knowledge of common inspection measuring equipment including, but not limited to, surface plates, micrometers, height gauges, radius gauges, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and Coordinate Measuring Machines
  • Basic level of programming and understanding of six degrees of freedom
  • Ability to troubleshoot and create CMM machines and programs as necessary
  • Familiar with PCDMIS, Calypso, & Polyworks or similar software
  • Basic PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Ability to use Syteline/ESI or other ERP systems after instruction
  • Blueprint reading and basic math skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of manual dexterity
  • Ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic English language skills and the ability to read, follow, and interpret planning and work order instructions
  • Willingness to learn and train others with less experience
  • Vision test required per customer specifications

  • Understanding of basic math calculations.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments, test equipment or other devices where interpretation is required.
  • Ability to perform duties in manufacturing environment which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Strong background concerning the usage and care of precision measuring tools and equipment.
  • Ability to effectively read and understand blueprints, engineering documents, purchase orders, inspection manuals and procedures.
  • Strong background programming and operating coordinate measuring machines.
  • Strong metrology, blueprint reading, and GD&T interpretation skills.
  • Familiar with AS9102 Form and First Article Inspection (FAI).
  • Practical experience performing in-process and final inspections.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of related aerospace ISO and AS requirements.
  • 2-5 years with recent aircraft machine shop experience
