Our portfolio includes poultry, beef, egg, alternative protein, salt, oils, starches, sweeteners, cocoa and chocolate.Job Purpose and ImpactThe CMLS Fleet Safety will evaluate routine to difficult and varied transportation safety operations, data and reports to identify the most effective process to ensure compliance with Federal, State and local regulations and laws. In this role, you will be conducting audits, reporting and analysis, resource, budget and project management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum requirement of 2 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 3 years or more of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Determine best recruiting avenues for qualified owner/operators to lease on with CMLS.
  • Assist with the identification, recruiting and qualification of new owner/operators.
  • Plan, control and conduct Orientations for new owner/operators. To include training in Federal Hours of Service, Electronic Logging Devices and company policies.
  • Evaluate and counsel owner/operators concerning Federal Regulations covering Hours of Service and Maintenance.
  • Coordinate and transport new owner/operators between appointments for DOT required drug and alcohol testing, physicals and equipment repairs.
  • Track, review and counsel owner/operators over Roadside Inspections conducted by law enforcement.
  • Manage administrative functions within the Safety Department as needed.
  • Accessible after hours for various support requirements for the owner/operators.
  • Use comprehensive knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry to help owner/operator’s success with CMLS systems.
  • Independently solve simple to complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex or pressing issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
