Under the Regional and Local Health Operations (RLHO) Information Systems (RIS) Manager, this position provides technical guidance and support for the DSHS statewide case management and case investigation system (CMIS), myInsight. The RIS group is responsible for project management and execution, ensuring information security and coordination with IT teams and the RLHO Analytics group to ensure maintenance and optimization of TxS2, CMIS, and Qualtrics. The RIS group is part of the Analytics and Information Management Unit within the RLHO Division. Our mission is to analyze and transform public health information that empowers stakeholders to make data-driven decisions and improve outcomes.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of information systems/technology processes and procedures.
  • Skill in organizing and prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines for simultaneous tasks.
  • Skill in supporting diverse teams to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to operate information technology systems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to translate technical information and communicate it to a non-technical audience.
  • Graduation from a four-year college or university is required.
  • 3 years of experience supporting applications and systems.
  • 3 years of experience developing at least one of the following: program policies, procedures or manuals is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in electronic health record systems or health information.

Responsibilities

  • Running reports and tracking vendor deliverables and support tickets to ensure compliance with the service level agreements.
  • Assessing existing CMIS/myInsight procedures, drafting clear guidance documents, and updating documentation.
  • Leading user acceptance testing of system enhancements and making recommendations prior to implementation of changes in the production environment.
  • Acting as subject expert for CMIS/myInsight and staying current on system functionality, modules, workflows and reports.
  • Coordinating with IT, vendor and program staff on quarterly vendor system upgrades to ensure compatibility with the DSHS’ instance of CMIS/myInsight.
