About The Position

Our NORAD Operations Group Selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), we support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). Since 2020, through the (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II), has provided: Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space. Mitigation of orbital conflicts. Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities. Operations and maintenance of classified communications. Software development and integration. NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at: Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska Vandenberg Space Force Base, California Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world Description of Duties: The CMAC System Administrator supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will: Installing operating system software, patches, and upgrades. Analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving system hardware, software, and networking issues. Configuring, optimizing, fine-tuning, and monitoring operating system software and hardware. Performing system backups, recovery, and server builds. Providing systems administrator support to systems hosting complex operational databases, software configuration control, and system interfaces for computer systems. Managing file servers and network access to include analyzing, troubleshooting, and documenting system anomalies. Performs and provides server, workstation, and system expertise including on-site and off-site travel. Coordinates and schedules system upgrades and maintenance. Provides guidance, direction, and training to others in the group. Serves as backup to other computer systems administrators. Performs and provides server and workstation expertise including on-site and off-site travel. Orders replacement of new hardware and software including warranty claims. Other duties as assigned. This position will be filled and work onsite at Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station, Colorado Resumes, in month and year format, must be submitted with application in order to be considered for the position.

Requirements

  • Active TS with SCI eligibility
  • Current DoD IAT Level II or higher (Sec+)
  • Must have 5 years of general work experience
  • Must have 2 years of directly related experience
  • Working knowledge and system administration experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments; Microsoft Windows operating systems (OS) administration and associated hardware; VMWare and system visualization; and Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies
  • Red-hat or Linux experience/knowledge
  • Understanding of virtual machine and Remote Desktop
  • Windows System Administration experience or Background with SPADOC or space situational analysis/space orbital

  • Cyber and Space Operations experience
  • Basic understanding of network topologies and protocols
  • Remedy trouble ticket experience
