About The Position

The Transition Accountant is an experienced Intermediate Level Accountant with a solid understanding of financial reporting, accounting concepts and routine accounting issues. S/he will be a flexible, multi-tasking, self-starter capable of delivering results in a professional, consistent, and positive manner, in accordance with company goals. S/he works closely with team members to ensure the quality & orderly transition of new clients to CMA.

Requirements

  • The knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through the acquisition of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications and Outlook email.
  • 3-5 years of relevant full-cycle Accounting experience.
  • Will be communicating with all levels of personnel, so clear and concise communication is a must.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills are required.
  • Must be detail-oriented and dependable, and consistently contribute as a team player.
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently without supervision.
  • Must have strong multi-tasking skills and meet company deadlines.
  • Must have a positive and professional appearance, attitude, and demeanor.
  • Position demands creative thinking, consistent accuracy, and a sense of urgency.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency using Vantaca HOA Accounting Software and/or Strongroom lockbox payables system.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a Transition Portfolio of approximately 5-15 properties based upon varying levels of complexity/timing/door count.
  • Complete the Transition of assigned properties to CMA – to include, but not limited to: opening association bank accounts, setup/open property in systems, loading initial Trial Balance & Budget, upload resident lists/balances, billing setup, coupon ordering & welcome letters, etc.
  • Coordinate/Update vendor billing setup – ensuring all utilities, insurance, landscaper, etc. are notified and proper change of address submitted.
  • Researches and resolves accounting issues involving Transition properties, communicates with Prior Management Co. to ensure all property info. is received and complete.
  • Assist with new/old contracts & proposals.
  • Update & maintain New Property/Marketing Reports.
  • Requires frequent review of incomplete data in order to build base financial records.
