About The Position

The Cardiac Monitoring Nurse is responsible for overseeing and managing patients enrolled in remote monitoring programs. This role includes reviewing transmitted health data (such as vital signs, weight, and cardiac rhythms), identifying abnormal readings, and initiating appropriate clinical interventions. The Nurse communicates with patients to provide education, reinforce care plans, and coordinate follow-up care as needed. Additionally, the nurse collaborates with physicians and the care team to ensure timely and effective patient management. Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in electronic health records and monitoring platforms are essential. Please note this position is NOT remote.

Requirements

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with an active Georgia license
  • Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Cardiology experience of at least 1 year
  • Moderate computer skills to include, but not limited to, use of Electronic Health Records system, use of Excel Spreadsheets, and web-based portal(s)
  • Communicating with compassion, both within the clinic and with patients and families or caregivers
  • Critical thinking and prioritization of tasks
  • Works well in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Enrolls patients with the appropriate cardiac monitor modality in clinic, as ordered by physician and is covered by the patient’s insurance plan
  • Educates patients on compliance with the cardiac monitor for maximum efficacy
  • Receives and processes reports from completed cardiac monitor modalities in a timely manner
  • Receives and escalates alert reports received from cardiac monitoring vendor in a timely manner
  • Coordinates and oversees device inventory with cardiac monitor vendor and vendor representatives to ensure availability of monitors
  • Subject matter expert on monitor-based testing; responds to questions from patients, family members and staff
  • Coordinates with Billing department to ensure reports are processed in a timely manner and billing requirements are met
  • Other duties as assigned
