About The Position

A day in the life of an RN/CMA/LPN at The Iowa Clinic Internal Medicine at our West Lakes Campus includes arriving at work in the morning with no night shifts. The clinic operates Monday through Friday during standard clinic hours. The role involves providing professional nursing services for patients of assigned physician(s), adhering to established nursing practice standards and medical office hospital procedures. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments of patients' care needs, obtaining prior authorizations, rooming patients, taking vitals, and performing phlebotomy as needed. The position also requires assisting providers with patient triage, identifying nursing diagnoses or problem lists, and formulating an initial plan of care based on assessment data. The job emphasizes spending quality time with patients to listen and understand their needs, participating in department potlucks or team-building activities over lunch, and engaging with the clinic's intranet for volunteer opportunities. The day concludes with returning patient calls to ensure all patients feel valued and cared for, leaving in the evening after a fulfilling day of work.

Requirements
