Role: We are seeking a dedicated Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our team! The Certified Medication Aide is responsible for passing medication under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse and to provide direct, hands-on care to residents.

Requirements

  • The Certified Medication Aide must have completed an approved training program and passed competency examinations in clinical skills and written knowledge to obtain certification as both a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Medication Aide (CMA).

Responsibilities

  • CMA - Certified Medication Aide under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse, passes medication and provides treatments according to physician’s orders and in accordance with facility policy.
  • CMA - Certified Medication Aide reports changes in resident’s condition immediately to the Charge Nurse.
  • CMA - Certified Medication Aide reviews Tenant Service Plans as needed to gain and maintain a familiarity with tenant service needs and preferences.
  • CMA - Certified Medication Aide reviews the Staff 24-Hour Communication log and corresponding Tenant Service Notes on a daily basis for information about changes in tenant service needs and/or health conditions.
  • CMA - Certified Medication Aide provides personal services to tenants as assigned and as indicated on Tenant Service Plans.
  • CMA - Certified Medication Aide assists tenants with medications and/or treatments as assigned and allowed by regulation.
  • CMA - Certified Medication Aide responds to calls from the emergency call system in a timely manner.
  • CMA - Certified Medication Aide demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.
  • CMA - Certified Medication Aide assists in the dining room during meal times
  • CMA - Certified Medication Aide assists in maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe environment by providing housekeeping services as needed.
  • CMA - Certified Medication Aide assists with individual tenant and group social/recreational activities as requested; encourages tenant participation in activities.
  • CMA - Certified Medication Aide monitors for changes in tenant needs, preferences, and/or health status, and reports/documents any changes according to established procedures.
  • CMA - Certified Medication Aide responds to emergencies in an appropriate manner as per training received.
