About The Position
The position involves a variety of responsibilities centered around patient care and administrative support in a medical setting. The individual will meet and greet patients, obtain necessary patient information and medical history, and accurately document this information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The role also includes recording vital signs, performing EKGs, spirometry, and assisting licensed staff during patient examinations and treatments, which may involve administering injections and immunizations. Additionally, the individual will perform lab duties such as phlebotomy, order entry, and specimen collection, ensuring proper labeling and chain of custody for testing. Under the supervision of licensed personnel, the individual will distribute educational information and instructions for patient care and diagnostics. They will coordinate telephone and in-basket requests for prescription refills and report test results as per provider instructions. Maintaining examination and treatment rooms, including inventory management, is also a key responsibility. The individual must practice Standard Precautions, comply with HIPAA and safety procedures, and attend required meetings and in-services. Administrative duties may include scheduling procedures and completing medical history forms as needed.
