About The Position

Summit Club is seeking a Porter to join the Residential Services Department. The Porter will be responsible to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the Clubhouse facilities, including restrooms, public areas, and common areas. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience and proven success in the hospitality or service industry is strongly preferred.
Prior housekeeping experience preferred.
Prior special events set up / tear down experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Clean restrooms, foyer space, and furniture as assigned.
Utilize specialty equipment complying with all safety and procedural guidelines.
Polish, restore, seal, finish & maintain all flooring, including marble, granite, etc
Complete extraction and spotting of carpets.
Complete high & low dusting of ceiling vents, wall decorations, etc.
Use various machines such as carpet extractors, scrubbers (ride-on and walk-behind), burnishers, floor machines, lifts, wet/dry vacuums, spotting machines.
Operate hand trucks and flatbed carts to move equipment to assigned work areas.
Use proper techniques and equipment when moving heavy furniture to clean the area underneath.
Properly use and dispose of chemicals when conducting area cleaning.
Conduct bio-hazard clean-up.
Must have the ability to move furniture, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 75 pounds occasionally.
Other duties as assigned.
Provides courteous and professional service as well as proper care, movement, storage of all equipment such as tables, chairs, and other event equipment.
Quickly and efficiently retrieves all materials needed for setup for special events.
Ensures all venues are well-maintained and cleaned prior to and/or after an event. Also assists with inventory control of catering equipment and furniture.
Communicates with supervisor verbally and through written communication throughout the shift to ensure proper notification and follow through of assigned tasks.
Provides prompt, courteous service to banquet members while maintaining a friendly and pleasant atmosphere.
Maintains safe and sanitary conditions in all banquet service areas and for all banquet service equipment.
Safely drive and maintain vehicles available for transporting event materials.
Demonstrates full knowledge of banquet areas and keep banquet service areas properly stocked and cleaned.
Assists other banquet staff when needed and performs side work and other cleaning and organizing.
