About The Position

The Club Operations Intern at BJ's Wholesale Club is a temporary position designed for individuals focused on a post-graduate career in retail management and operations. This 11-week internship program offers hands-on experience in club operations, leadership, and team member engagement, providing opportunities for personal and professional development. Interns will collaborate with various departments, participate in skills workshops, and engage with senior leadership, all while contributing to the club's operational efficiency and customer service excellence.

Requirements

• Able to work 100% in person at designated club.
• Focused on post-grad career in retail management and operations.
• Can-do attitude with a willingness to roll-up your sleeves and learn.
• Able to work cross functionally with different leaders/team members across various departments to drive towards results.
• Agile and eager to work with diverse stakeholders and tasks.
• Strong business acumen with desire to work in an active, boots-on-the-ground environment where no day is the same.
• People-focused, with positive leadership skills.
• Basic computer knowledge (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Email) required.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and direction within the club.
• Collaborates with other Managers to drive Team Member engagement, develop talent by coaching, teaching, and developing Team Members, assess Team Member performance and provide actionable feedback.
• Evaluates departmental performance using company reporting programs and provides recommendations to maximize sales, profits, and performance.
• Evaluates and ensures operational processes are consistently followed in the highly controlled areas of receiving, asset control, human resources, and cash office.
• Continually monitors customer service levels and ensures a positive service experience is delivered to all Members.
• Establishes operational efficiencies and productivity standards within the department and reviews budgets, plans and P&L to identify profit opportunities.
• Maintains an understanding of club policies and procedures across all areas of the club.
