About The Position

The BJ's Wholesale Club Internship Program offers a unique opportunity for individuals focused on a post-graduate career in retail management and operations. This 11-week program provides exposure to meaningful skills building, executive-level interactions, and the potential for permanent placement within the company. Interns will engage in various activities, including site visits, skills workshops, and final project presentations, all aimed at fostering personal and professional development.

Requirements

• Able to work 100% in person at designated club.
• Focused on post-grad career in retail management and operations.
• Can-do attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with different leaders and team members.
• Agile and eager to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong business acumen with a desire to work in an active environment.
• People-focused with positive leadership skills.
• Basic computer knowledge (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Email) required.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and direction within the club.
• Collaborates with other Managers to drive Team Member engagement and develop talent.
• Assesses Team Member performance and provides actionable feedback.
• Evaluates departmental performance using company reporting programs and recommends improvements.
• Ensures operational processes are consistently followed in controlled areas such as receiving and human resources.
• Monitors customer service levels to ensure a positive experience for all Members.
• Establishes operational efficiencies and productivity standards within the department.
• Reviews budgets, plans, and P&L to identify profit opportunities.
• Maintains an understanding of club policies and procedures across all areas.
