About The Position

The Club Manager at BJ's Wholesale Club is responsible for leading the operations and profitability of a club, ensuring an excellent member experience, managing team members, and fostering a positive work environment. This role involves strategic decision-making, talent development, and maintaining operational efficiencies to meet company objectives.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a retail store, supermarket, or warehouse operations manager required.
  • Strong drive for results and solid work ethic is required.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a large team.
  • Solid understanding of profit & loss statements, shrink control, staff development, merchandising, customer service, problem solving, and conflict resolution required.
  • High school diploma and/or college degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including managing/supervising cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a membership warehouse club environment.
  • Knowledge of retail marketplace trends.

  • Manage talent and build a strong bench by encouraging team member growth and development.
  • Effectively communicate necessary information to enable team members to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Exhibit strong decision-making capabilities that align with the company's strategic priorities.
  • Maintain awareness of local competition and current trends in the retail marketplace.
  • Control operating costs and establish operational efficiencies.
  • Implement new concepts to maximize profitability.
  • Create a great shopping experience for members that exceeds expectations.
  • Monitor expenses and adjust expenditures to achieve profit objectives.
  • Attain planned sales volume through effective supervision and communication with the Home Office.
