About The Position

Contra Costa Country Club in Pleasant Hill, CA is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a part-time seasonal Club Intern! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management. Position Overview This rotational internship is designed for hospitality‑management students seeking hands‑on experience in private club operations. Interns will gain exposure to three core areas of the Food & Beverage department: Pool Service, Events & Banquets, and Administrative/Leadership Training. The program provides a well‑rounded understanding of member‑service standards, operational execution, and behind‑the‑scenes management at a premier private country club.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Hospitality Management program (or related field)
  • Strong interest in private club operations and member‑service environments
  • Ability to work long days, weekends, and required holidays — including July 4th
  • Comfortable working outdoors in warm or cool conditions
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stay active throughout the shift
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and demeanor

Responsibilities

  • Pool Service Operations:
  • Learn day‑to‑day poolside service, including order taking, running food, and guest engagement
  • Conduct regular rounds to anticipate member needs
  • Support opening and closing duties (towels, music, trash, deck organization, sign‑ins)
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
  • Understand outdoor service logistics, pacing, and high‑volume summer operations
  • Events & Banquets:
  • Assist with setup, execution, and breakdown of club events (member socials, weddings, golf events, holiday functions)
  • Learn banquet service styles, timelines, and event flow
  • Support coordination between kitchen, service teams, and event leads
  • Observe event planning processes and pre‑event communication
  • Administrative & Leadership Training:
  • Shadow F&B leadership in scheduling, inventory, ordering, and staff communication
  • Learn POS management, member billing accuracy, and service‑charge processes
  • Participate in pre‑shift meetings, training sessions, and operational planning
  • Gain insight into private‑club culture, member expectations, and service standards
