About The Position

The Club Director is responsible for overseeing the full operation of the sports facility, ensuring high-quality member experiences and engagement. This role involves direct supervision of various department managers and is part of the Executive Leadership team, reporting to the VP of Operations. The Club Director focuses on maintaining operational excellence, driving member retention, and fostering a positive community atmosphere within the club.

Requirements

  • B.A or B.S. degree preferably in fitness management, business, marketing or communications.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of previous management experience.
  • Customer service skills required.
  • Knowledge of services, management, and promotion of multi-purpose sports facilities.
  • Knowledge of operation, maintenance, and equipment of a multi-purpose facility.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong leadership skills and competence in staff training.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and complete records.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, administrators, and subordinates.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics programs).

Responsibilities

  • Oversees full building operation and manages department managers.
  • Direct management of Member Services Manager, Kids Stuff Manager, Aquatics Manager, and Work-Space Supervisor.
  • Shared management of Tennis Manager, Personal Training Manager, Group Fitness Manager, and Sales Manager with regional department heads.
  • Manages building operational staff coverage and participates in front-line coverage as needed.
  • Drives excellence in member experience, focusing on cleanliness, customer service, and consistency.
  • Acts as an inspirational leader, connecting with team members and members.
  • Cultivates a culture of teamwork, accountability, and member engagement.
  • Sets clear expectations for teams and holds them accountable.
  • Ensures quality control related to member experience in collaboration with corporate services leaders.
  • Supports regional department heads to ensure high performance and consistent delivery.
  • Manages controllable building operational expenses to stay within budget.
  • Runs weekly manager meetings to support department managers and align goals.
  • Responsible for overall building safety and risk management.
  • Represents MVP Sports Clubs within the community.
  • Leads and participates in regular Service Game training sessions.
  • Performs staff appraisals and merit programs in a timely manner.
