About The Position

TechnoMile is seeking a CloudOps Engineer to operate, secure, and continuously improve our AWS GovCloud environments. This role combines hands‑on cloud operations with a Tier 3 support and escalation function, supporting mission‑critical, compliance‑driven production systems. The CloudOps Engineer serves as a senior technical escalation point for complex infrastructure and platform issues, while also contributing to automation, infrastructure as code, and operational maturity. This role is ideal for engineers with a background spanning advanced cloud support, GovCloud operations, and regulated environments, including FedRAMP‑aligned workloads.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Cloud Operations, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or advanced Infrastructure Support roles.
  • Hands‑on AWS GovCloud experience supporting production systems.
  • Demonstrated experience acting in a Tier 3 or senior escalation role.
  • Strong understanding of AWS networking, IAM, and security best practices.
  • Experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
  • Proficiency with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience supporting environments with strict security and compliance requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and communication skills.
  • US Citizenship is required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting FedRAMP, SOC 2, CMMC, or DoD‑aligned environments.
  • Prior work in government or defense‑adjacent cloud environments.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, ECS/EKS, or container orchestration platforms.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and pipeline architecture.
  • Experience with centralized logging, SIEM, or security tooling.
  • Exposure to Azure in addition to AWS (secondary).

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain AWS GovCloud production environments, ensuring availability, performance, and security.
  • Manage core AWS services including VPC, EC2, ALB/NLB, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
  • Support regulated cloud environments, ensuring adherence to security controls, logging, and audit requirements.
  • Partner with Security and Compliance teams on FedRAMP‑aligned controls, investigations, and evidence support.
  • Act as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex infrastructure and platform issues originating from Support, DevOps, or Engineering.
  • Lead production incident response, including troubleshooting, mitigation, root cause analysis, and long‑term remediation.
  • Support large‑scale deployments and operational changes in production environments.
  • Participate in on‑call and incident response rotations as required.
  • Build, maintain, and improve Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Develop automation using Python and Bash to reduce manual operational effort.
  • Support and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows in collaboration with DevOps teams.
  • Contribute to standardization of environments and repeatable deployment patterns.
  • Manage Linux‑based systems and support Windows workloads where applicable.
  • Support containerized workloads using ECS/EKS and Kubernetes.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and centralized logging solutions.
  • Contribute to operational documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with capacity planning, cost optimization, and cloud governance initiatives.
