About The Position

As a Cloud Systems Engineer IV, you will drive the stability and sustainability of cloud-based networks and software systems designed for scalable and reliable operations. You will perform system integration, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. You will create proactive engineering mechanisms that enable the team to manage the health of a number of distributed virtual machines. You will perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies for hardware and software specifications. You will utilize trends and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement within existing frameworks, tools, and processes. You will be responsible for systems functionality, performance, and configuration issues. Considered an emerging authority, you will apply extensive technical expertise to develop solutions to complex problems and exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. This position operates within a modern multi-cloud environment and supports enterprise initiatives focused on Zero Trust Architecture, cloud modernization, and migration from legacy or on-premise systems to cloud-native platforms across providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and Microsoft Azure.

Requirements

  • Clearance: Active Secret Clearance
  • Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience) with at least 8 years of relevant systems engineering experience.
  • Extensive experience designing and developing end-to-end system solutions
  • Strong ability to analyze system performance, develop implementation requirements, and ensure compliance with verification standards
  • Experience integrating system elements and developing interface solutions for complex systems
  • Ability to work independently and exercise considerable latitude in problem-solving and decision-making
  • Working knowledge of cloud-based or distributed computing environments
  • DoD 8570 / 8140 IAT Level II certification
  • At least one cloud certification

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, evaluate, and modify end-to-end systems and system-oriented products throughout their lifecycle
  • Generate and translate high-level system requirements into detailed implementation specifications
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods
  • Establish and coordinate development of standards, practices, and procedures for system development
  • Design interfaces and integrate system elements to function as a cohesive enterprise system
  • Assess system performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures
  • Act as a customer liaison to understand and shape technical requirements for program initiatives and solution development
  • Participate in system conceptual design and document architectural concepts for implementation
  • Conduct design reviews to ensure traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation
  • Develop and execute system-level verification procedures and customer acceptance test plans
  • Review test plans and procedures to ensure alignment with contractual objectives and participate in validation processes
  • Support systems engineering efforts within multi-cloud environments utilizing AWS, OCI, and Azure
  • Assist with modernization initiatives including migration of legacy systems to cloud-native architectures
  • Support implementation of Zero Trust security principles, including Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) practices
  • Provide technical support to operational strategies aligned with program initiatives that optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure quality across program functions
  • Ensure 100% of planned hours are worked and recorded
  • Identify and forward to leadership any opportunities that could lead to growth within your work area
  • Participate in growth efforts as requested
  • Ensure all contractual deliverables are met or exceeded to the customer's satisfaction
  • Complete personal PDP and attend Staff Meetings and Storytime (with camera on)
  • Build productive and positive professional relationships with clients within your program
  • Execute all contract requirements as assigned in accordance with the contract-specific LCAT and requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
