About The Position

RIVA Solutions is seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer with strong hands-on experience supporting Azure, Microsoft 365, and Windows-based enterprise environments. This role is responsible for the administration, migration, and ongoing support of cloud and hybrid systems, with a focus on reliability, security, automation, and user enablement. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise across Azure infrastructure, identity management, Windows systems, and Microsoft 365 services, with the ability to support modernization initiatives and day-to-day operations in a secure federal environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a cloud engineering or systems administration role
Hands-on experience administering Azure cloud environments
Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and Windows Server technologies
Experience managing Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity services
Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration
U.S. Citizenship required
Active Secret or Top Secret clearance required

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments
Familiarity with DevOps practices and collaboration with DevOps teams
Experience with Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments in federal settings

Responsibilities

Administer Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, networking, security configurations, and resource management
Manage and support Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online environments, including mailbox administration and tenant operations
Lead end-to-end Microsoft 365 and Exchange migrations, including hybrid, cutover, and staged migration approaches
Administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including identity synchronization, Conditional Access policies, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Manage Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
Support and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments
Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate administration, migrations, reporting, and operational tasks
Support hybrid cloud, server, and tenant migration activities
Monitor system performance, availability, security, and compliance
Collaborate with DevOps teams and support Kubernetes-based workloads as needed
Troubleshoot and resolve complex system, identity, and access-related issues
