About The Position

Peraton is seeking a skilled Cloud Systems Administrator to support our mission-driven Cyber platform team. In this role, you’ll help sustain and optimize a cloud-based enterprise platform built with Java and Free and Open-Source Software technologies including Kubernetes, Hadoop, and Accumulo—enabling execution of data-intensive analytics on managed infrastructure. As a Cloud Systems Administrator, you will be part of the Operations Team responsible for maintaining day-to-day platform stability, supporting customer operations, and troubleshooting technical issues across complex Linux-based environments. This is an on-call position that provides Tier 1 through Tier 3 operational support. You will work in a fast-paced technical environment where attention to detail, proactive task management, and the ability to independently diagnose operational issues are essential to mission success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline and a minimum of 3 years of experience in software development or engineering; OR Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline and a minimum of 1 year of experience in software development or engineering; OR A minimum of 7 years of experience in software development or engineering in lieu of a degree. Qualifying experience must include requirements analysis, software development, installation, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, or problem diagnosis and resolution
  • Degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar technical disciplines will be considered.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with current Polygraph is required.
  • 8570 IAT Level I or higher (preferably Security+) is required.

  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
  • Cloud certification will be verified during the interview or offer process.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations of cloud-based analytic platforms
  • Provide Tier 1–3 support for infrastructure and system-level issues
  • Troubleshoot operational issues within Linux environments
  • Manage RedHat/CentOS provisioning using kickstart
  • Perform Linux/Unix networking analysis using tools such as nmap and tcpdump
  • Support DNS administration including hosts files and DHCP
  • Assist with containerized and distributed platform technologies
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve system performance issues
  • Support on-call operational requirements
