About The Position

RRD is seeking a motivated and energetic individual to join our team in Logan, UT this Summer! THIS IS A HYBRID POSITION We are seeking a motivated and talented Cloud & Software Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer. This role is ideal for a student or early-career technologist who has experience working with AWS, Python, Perl, and basic UI development. You will assist in building tools, automating workflows, and supporting cloud-based applications in a collaborative engineering environment.

Requirements

Familiarity with AWS environments and tools (coursework or hands-on project experience acceptable).
Working proficiency in Python and/or Perl.
Some knowledge of front-end/UI development such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or basic frameworks.
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Git or other version control systems.
Exposure to DevOps tools.
Familiarity with Linux environments.
Basic understanding of REST APIs or microservices architecture.

Responsibilities

Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions using AWS services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway).
Write and maintain Python and Perl scripts for automation, data processing, and system integration.
Support internal tools and dashboards by contributing to UI development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript or preferred frameworks).
Work with senior engineers to debug, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance.
Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and agile development processes.
Document code, processes, and best practices for future reference.
Collaborate cross-functionally with DevOps, software engineering, and QA teams.
