About The Position

In this role, you will develop, maintain, and enhance complex Big-Data Cloud systems, contributing to all stages of back-end processing, analysis, and indexing. You will implement and test software components, resolve issues, and provide input on system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and COTS/GOTS integration. Working individually or on a team, you will leverage Cloud and Distributed Computing technologies to architect, debug, and manage multi-node installations while ensuring secure and efficient operations.

Requirements

Strong experience in Cloud computing, distributed systems, Big-Data architectures, and Information Retrieval (IR)
Proficiency with Java, Python, and object-oriented design
Experience with Hadoop ecosystem, MapReduce, HDFS, HBase, Cloud Big Table, and coordination frameworks (e.g., Zookeeper)
Experience in multi-node Cloud deployment, system debugging, and performance optimization
Knowledge of network operations, virtualization (VMware/VirtualBox), and information assurance practices
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in teams
12 yrs. software engineering experience in complex programs
B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline (Master or certifications may substitute for experience)
Minimum 4 yrs. with Big-Data Cloud technologies and distributed computing
TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
