Peraton is looking for a Cloud Software Engineer to join our high-performing Cyber Missions team in Annapolis Junction, MD. What You'll Do: Design, develop, and deploy scalable cloud-native applications and services. Conduct software research, development, and engineering in dynamic mission environments. Analyze system requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions. Support the full software development lifecycle-from concept through integration, testing, and sustainment. Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, ensuring high availability and performance in cloud environments. Enhance and evolve mission systems by integrating new capabilities and technologies. Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with a current polygraph is required.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in software development, including requirements analysis, design, integration, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • 4+ years developing in high-level languages such as Java, C, or C++.
  • 3+ years in software integration and unit testing, including test plan and script development.
  • 3+ years developing software on UNIX/Linux (Red Hat 3-5).
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or a related technical field (e.g., Math, Information Systems, Engineering) is required
  • A Master's degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.
  • One of the following certifications is required prior to starting: AWS Solutions Architect - Associate
  • AWS Developer - Associate
  • AWS DevOps Engineer - Professional

Nice To Haves

  • Strong expertise in AWS SDKs, APIs, and cloud architecture design.
  • Experience with the AWS Well-Architected Framework and serverless deployments.
  • Hands-on with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Skilled in CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
  • Proficient with GitLab for version control.
  • Familiarity with AWS Cost Management tools like Pricing Calculator and Cost Explorer.
  • Experience using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and other AWS monitoring services.
