Cloud Ops Engineer
About The Position
We are seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to join a dynamic and high-performing team. In this role, you will help build and evolve cloud infrastructure frameworks that support the continuous integration, deployment, and delivery of mission-critical software products on Microsoft Azure. As a Cloud Operations Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in cloud architecture, automation, security, and scalability to support high-availability cloud-hosted applications. This position requires a deep understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC), infrastructure as code (IaC), and DevOps best practices. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, architects, and quality assurance teams to design and implement secure, scalable, and efficient cloud solutions.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience deploying cloud or on-premise software applications.
- 5+ years of experience managing automated build and deployment systems.
- 5+ years of experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo) and frameworks (Ant, Maven).
- Expertise in .NET, C#, Shell Scripting, Bash, Python, Java.
- Strong experience with SQL, web technologies, and scripting.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative, quality-first mindset.
- Deep understanding of public cloud providers (Azure preferred) and their service offerings.
- Proven experience implementing CI/CD processes in cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and API services.
- Experience with cloud monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Salt.
Nice To Haves
- Advanced Microsoft Azure certification (Solutions Architect Expert, DevOps Engineer Expert, etc.).
- Experience integrating on-premise technologies with cloud services.
- Familiarity with IT compliance and risk management (SOX, HIPAA, security best practices).
- Experience working with Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, and cloud security services.
- Working knowledge of Windows/Linux/macOS environments.
- Mobile application build and test automation experience (iOS, Android) is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Implement, maintain, and optimize cloud-hosted software products and services.
- Set up, plan, and configure cloud environments to support application workloads.
- Deploy, manage, and operate highly available, fault-tolerant, and secure cloud systems.
- Migrate on-premise applications to public cloud infrastructure.
- Define and implement best practices for cloud deployment, security, and operations.
- Estimate cloud usage costs and apply operational cost-control mechanisms.
- Write automation scripts and conduct code reviews for infrastructure deployment.
- Manage and monitor application security, access controls, and performance.
- Integrate cloud-hosted applications with external customer and third-party systems.
- Perform research and analysis to make optimal cloud architecture and design decisions.
- Develop proof-of-concept prototypes for cloud innovations.
- Provide expert guidance on cloud security and compliance.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
