About The Position

The Cloud Operations Engineer II at IGT is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of cloud systems, ensuring high availability and reliability of IGT's gaming applications across various cloud platforms. This role emphasizes superior customer service and collaboration between software development and infrastructure teams, contributing to the overall success of IGT's cloud-managed services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Cloud Platform Engineering, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Linux and Microsoft Server infrastructure administration.
  • Working knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, Python, and PowerShell.
  • Experience with SQL Server installation, configuration, and administration.
  • Understanding of security and networking fundamentals including network topology design.
  • Strong proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware, HyperV).
  • Experience with backup solutions and load balancing techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with containerization platforms like Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Familiarity with storage solutions including SAN and vSAN.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop builds, scripts, and installation procedures for cloud systems.
  • Ensure end-to-end stability and performance tuning of IGT applications in cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure).
  • Collaborate with software development and infrastructure teams to enhance service delivery.
  • Maintain production infrastructures hosting IGT's software across multiple platforms.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot reported issues in a lab environment to implement solutions in production.
  • Carry out new installations, maintenance, and long-term support of IGT's gaming systems and software applications.
  • Establish and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceed expectations for established SLAs related to global systems engineering support.
  • Conform to standardized processes when operating remote connectivity solutions for real-time support.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to the business.
