About The Position

The Cloud Operations Administrator supports the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of Alarm.com's multi-site data center and cloud infrastructure. This role works closely with Cloud Architecture, Network Operations, and Engineering teams to ensure high availability, security, and compliance across all environments. Responsibilities include system monitoring, incident response, change management, and operational support for both private and public cloud platforms.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in private cloud environments
  • Familiarity with hyper-converged infrastructure and multi-site architectures
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server (SCCM patching, clustering, DHCP, DNS, AD)
  • Experience with VMware stack (vSphere, Horizon/VDI, Aria Suite)
  • Basic Understanding of storage systems (NetApp, Pure Storage) and protocols (FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB/CIFS)
  • Experience with monitoring tools (commercial and open source)
  • Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Ansible
  • Familiarity with backup/recovery solutions (e.g., Rubrik)
  • Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., Jira) and ITIL processes
  • Working knowledge of Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS)
  • Ability to work in Agile teams and take initiative in problem-solving
  • Perform hardware installation, diagnostics, and upgrades
  • Manage structured cabling and maintain accurate documentation
  • Support out-of-band management and coordinate equipment logistics

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain private, public, and hybrid cloud environments
  • Apply and manage hardened configurations and system baselines
  • Implement and maintain performance and availability monitoring tools
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, and develop preventive measures
  • Maintain and enhance automation scripts for operational efficiency
  • Provide responsive support to internal teams and stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned
