About The Position

At CVS Health, we are seeking a Cloud Network Engineer specializing in both Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The primary focus of this role is to design, develop, and deploy a robust Network that brings forward best in class Networking practices, Firewall design and implementation as well as a solid foundation in micro-segmentation. The right candidate will develop, deploy, and optimize cloud networking solutions across GCP and AWS, ensuring high availability and scalability. The Cloud Network Engineer will architect network designs that support hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments, drawing on best practices like those used by top technology companies. You will also collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce robust security policies, manage access controls, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).

Requirements

  • 7+ years experience of designing and managing cloud-based network infrastructures, with proven expertise in both AWS and GCP
  • 3+ years experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure ARM, Pulumi, CDK)
  • Experience with networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, routing, and network security best practices
  • Proficiency with network automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Python scripting)
  • Experience with container security, CI/CD integration, and DevSecOps methodologies

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a regulated healthcare environment with a clear understanding of compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, etc.)
  • Familiarity with container orchestration and microservices architectures (e.g., Kubernetes, Service Mesh)
  • Experience with agile development and DevOps practices to drive continuous integration and deployment processes

Responsibilities

  • Configure and manage virtual networks, VPNs, direct connect solutions, Micro Segmentation, load balancers, and firewalls in AWS and GCP
  • Leverage automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) to streamline deployment and management of network infrastructure
  • Implement network monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively identify and remediate vulnerabilities and performance issues
  • Continuously monitor network performance, analyze traffic patterns, and optimize configurations to maintain optimal service levels
  • Lead incident response efforts, troubleshoot complex network issues, and implement strategic improvements to prevent future occurrences
  • Work cross-functionally with software engineers, security experts, and operations teams to integrate network solutions that meet evolving business needs
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for network architectures, procedures, and incident response protocols
