As Cloud Engineering Lead primarily responsible for leading the design and implementation of cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS. This role focuses on starting provisioning and procurement pipelines, conducting migration analysis, and creating the infrastructure layout structure to support scalable, secure, and cost-optimized cloud environments in our Fort Worth, TX location. In this role, a typical day will include: Lead the strategic design of cloud-based and middleware systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and system interoperability Provide technical leadership to ensure platforms are secure, scalable, and optimized for performance Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless integration of architecture designs Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends, evaluating their impact on cloud and middleware systems Mentor junior and senior architects, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment Shape the organization’s cloud and middleware architecture to align with digital transformation objectives Drive the development and optimization of architecture systems, impacting multiple business units Exercise significant autonomy in decision-making regarding architecture strategy, design, and technology adoption Work closely with senior leadership to ensure alignment between architecture solutions and organizational goals Provisioning & Procurement Pipelines: Design and implement automated provisioning pipelines for AWS resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and establish procurement workflows for cloud services ensuring compliance with enterprise standards. Migration Analysis: Assess existing workloads and applications for cloud readiness, develop migration strategies, including re-hosting, re-platforming, and re-architecting approaches and perform cost-benefit analysis and risk assessments for migration plans. Infrastructure Layout in AWS: Define and implement AWS account structures, VPC design, and network segmentation, architect scalable and secure infrastructure aligned with Landing Zone best practices and integrate security, monitoring, and compliance controls into the infrastructure design. Leadership & Collaboration: Lead a team of cloud engineers and collaborate with security, networking, and application teams.and provide technical guidance and mentorship to ensure best practices in cloud engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience in AWS architecture and engineering, including VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, and networking.
  • Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of cloud migration methodologies and tools (AWS Migration Hub, DMS).
  • Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (SOC2, HIPAA, GDPR).
