The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at Werner Electric Supply is responsible for managing and optimizing cloud resources, virtual machines, and networks, with a strong emphasis on Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), server administration, and storage solutions. This role involves designing and implementing backup strategies, cloud migration plans, and ensuring system health through monitoring tools. The position requires collaboration with technical teams and a commitment to adapting cloud technologies to meet application needs.

  • Manage host environment to ensure proper tuning and sufficient capacity.
  • Configure servers and ensure optimization of network, servers, applications, and databases.
  • Assess software and hardware for update requirements and implement when necessary.
  • Provide 2nd level support to Helpdesk on complex issues.
  • Identify and implement the most effective cloud-based solutions.
  • Create roadmaps to meet goals for prototypes and infrastructure requirements.
  • Ensure maintenance tasks on infrastructure are performed.
  • Assess and improve software deployment process.
  • Execute project implementation plans.
  • Create and test recovery strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with other technical team members (network, security, endpoints).
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Manage on-premise and cloud-based platforms.
  • Champion the adaptation of Cloud technologies within the application teams and business.
  • Design and implement new cloud-based solutions based on best practices and group feedback to meet application needs for performance, function, security, and reliability.
  • 7-10 years relevant experience in infrastructure engineering and support.
  • 3-5 years of experience with cloud infrastructure design and support.
  • Available for off hours support of changes and break-fix duties.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert is highly desired.
  • Experience with Administration in an M365 environment & Teams Voice is a major plus.
  • Experience with VMware and Veeam preferred.
