About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in image management, Terraform/Terraform Cloud, Azure, and CI/CD automation to join our dynamic Cloud Infrastructure Engineering and Automation (CIEA) team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of container and operating system images (Windows and Linux), including image creation, scanning, hardening, and promotion through secure CI/CD pipelines. You will also play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable cloud infrastructure solutions that power Dayforce’s next-generation cloud-native platforms. You will work closely with engineering, security, and product teams to drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices, image governance, and automation workflows to ensure consistent, secure, and reliable deployment patterns across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering roles
  • Strong expertise in image management workflows: container image scanning, signing, and promotion; Windows/Linux VM image creation with Packer and Azure Compute Gallery
  • Advanced proficiency with Terraform, Terraform Cloud, Hashi Vault, GitHub Actions, and Azure services
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (AKS) and GitOps tools such as ArgoCD
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Strong understanding of Azure networking, identity, RBAC, and cloud security best practices
  • Familiarity with container registries (ACR), GitHub runners, and image promotion pipelines
  • Familiarity with cloud security and compliance tools such as Wiz or Prisma, as these pipelines are key to image scanning and governance
  • Knowledge of FIPS compliance requirements and experience working with FIPS-validated cryptography for U.S. government (GUSA) workloads
  • Ability to analyze complex technical challenges and deliver reliable, scalable, and secure solutions
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and evolving technologies
  • Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead image management for Windows, Linux, and container workloads, including creation, patching, scanning, and promotion across environments
  • Implement and manage image scanning pipelines for security vulnerabilities and compliance validation
  • Build and maintain promotion workflows for container images and VM images into registries (ACR, Compute Gallery)
  • Design and develop reusable Terraform modules and automation workflows for deploying Azure infrastructure at scale
  • Drive enhancements to Terraform Cloud workspaces, including state management, drift detection, and policy enforcement
  • Develop and maintain GitHub Actions pipelines and integrate GitOps workflows using ArgoCD
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, and security engineers to deliver infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and operationally efficient
  • Participate in code reviews, peer mentoring, and documentation to uphold engineering best practices and standards
