Job Description: We are seeking a experienced Cloud Firewall Test Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, and security of a cloud-delivered firewall platform built on microservices. In this role, you will design and execute test strategies across UI, API, integration, and system levels, with a strong focus on automation using Playwright with Python, and you’ll leverage AI-assisted testing tools to accelerate authoring, debugging, and coverage expansion.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience in QA/Test Engineering, SDET, or Software Engineering with a strong testing focus (mid-level scope).
  • Strong hands-on Python skills for building test automation (not just scripting).
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright for UI automation; ability to build maintainable patterns (e.g., page objects/fixtures) and stable locator strategies.
  • Solid experience testing APIs (REST) and distributed systems; comfortable validating microservice interactions and contracts.
  • Experience with cloud networking/security concepts (e.g., TCP/IP fundamentals, authentication flows, TLS basics, network policy behavior).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and test reporting workflows (e.g., Git-based workflows, pipeline execution, artifacts).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience testing firewalls, network security products, or cloud NGFW / CNF style deployments.
  • Experience with microservices testing strategies such as contract testing, API-first validation, and test isolation practices.
  • Exposure to performance, resilience, or scale testing for cloud services.
  • Familiarity with Selenium is a plus (especially if migrating legacy suites to Playwright).
  • Networking vendor/product exposure (e.g., Juniper/Cisco class environments) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated E2E and API test suites using Playwright with Python, prioritizing reliability, speed, and maintainability.
  • Validate cloud firewall capabilities (examples: policy management, rule evaluation behavior, logging/telemetry, authentication flows, control-plane workflows, and upgrades) in a microservices-based environment.
  • Build test coverage across microservices using a layered strategy (service-level API tests + critical end-to-end journeys) to reduce flakiness and improve signal-to-noise.
  • Implement CI/CD integration for automated suites (parallel execution, reporting, and failure triage artifacts such as logs/traces/screenshots).
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers and Product Owners to review user stories and acceptance criteria, improve testability, and define quality gates.
  • Troubleshoot complex failures using logs, metrics, and traces; drive root-cause analysis and partner with engineering to prevent regressions.
  • Use AI-based testing tools to speed up test development, refactoring, debugging, and test data generation—while applying engineering judgment to ensure correctness and maintainability.
  • Contribute to test infrastructure improvements (test environments, test data management, mock/stub strategies, and framework utilities).

Benefits

  • Health & Wellbeing We strive to provide our team members and their loved ones with a comprehensive suite of benefits that supports their physical, financial and emotional wellbeing.
  • Personal & Professional Development We also invest in your career because the better you are, the better we all are.
