About The Position

The Cloud FinOps Analyst will lead the strategy and serve as a subject matter expert in the FinOps practice, focusing on cloud service costs monitoring and governance. This role involves developing and maintaining cloud optimization practices, partnering with finance, and coordinating with technical and business teams to strategize on cost savings and efficiency in cloud usage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Business/Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 7 years of experience in financial operations or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of IT experience or experience with multiple cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI).
  • Experience managing cloud spending data to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices.
  • Legally authorized to work for any US employer.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Python, SQL, and APIs.
  • Experience in building dashboards and automated reporting.
  • FinOps certification and Cloud certification.

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategy for the FinOps practice and serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Monitor cloud service costs and provide alerts for cost spikes and budget overages.
  • Support the monthly cloud budget and invoice approval processes with reporting and cost allocation.
  • Provide visibility on cloud spend through custom and ad hoc reporting for stakeholders.
  • Build dashboards and automated reporting to provide insights into cloud spend and usage.
  • Design, develop, and maintain reports and KPIs for resource usage across the cloud landscape.
  • Support the Cloud Community of Practice (CCoP) and assist with various CCoP events.
  • Participate in business case development, cost modeling, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.
  • Automate and integrate Cloud FinOps processes and data management.
  • Support the Vendor Management Office (VMO) in implementing SaaS governance processes.
