Under the direction of the Director of Technology, the Manager, Cloud Engineering is responsible for leading the strategy, design, implementation, and ongoing operation of the firm’s cloud platforms and services. This hands-on technical leadership role oversees cloud engineering resources and ensures the firm’s cloud environments are secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned with business and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8–10+ years of progressive job-related technical experience, with significant hands-on experience in cloud engineering and platform operations.
  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing technical engineering teams.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services, networking, computer, storage, and security concepts.
  • Experience implementing infrastructure-as-code, automation, and CI/CD pipelines in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working within Agile or iterative delivery models.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, improve processes, and deliver reliable technology solutions at scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively across technology, security, and business teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the cloud engineering roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities, security requirements, and technology strategy.
  • Manage cloud operations, including monitoring, incident response, capacity planning, backup, disaster recovery, and lifecycle management of cloud resources.
  • Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies, tools, and services to improve efficiency, security, and scalability. Manage relationships with cloud service providers and managed service partners
  • Lead the design, implementation, and operation of cloud platforms and services, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure and related cloud technologies.
  • Ensure cloud environments are designed and maintained according to best practices for security, availability, performance, resiliency, and cost optimization (FinOps).
  • Oversee infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and automation practices (e.g., Terraform, CI/CD pipelines) to enable consistent, repeatable, and scalable cloud deployments.
  • Drive collaboration with DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Infrastructure teams to improve developer experience, reliability, and time-to-deliver across the technology stack.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cloud engineers, promoting modern engineering practices, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
