About The Position
Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is hiring a Cloud Engineer to support its customer Omni Federal. The position is hybrid , allowing work from home with on-site support at a government facility in Hanover, MD as needed. As a Cloud Engineer , you’ll be working alongside senior architects to deploy cloud infrastructure that supports real-world missions. This is your "Level 1" quest to becoming a cloud expert in a high-impact, fast-moving environment. Why Mission Technologies? Requirements
- 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
- Cloud Fundamentals: Basic understanding operations, system administration, monitoring SLA.
- Linux Literacy: Comfortable navigating a Linux terminal (if you know how to grep, cd, and chmod, you’re on the right track).
- Coding Curiosity: Exposure to at least one language (Python is a favorite here) and an understanding of Git (pull, commit, push).
- The "Go-Getter" Attitude: A relentless desire to learn new technologies and a "no task is too small" mindset.
- Must possess an active US level Secret clearance with the ability to qualify for a TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities
- Cloud Support & Provisioning: Assist in the deployment of virtual machines, storage, and networking components within AWS or Azure GovCloud.
- Infrastructure as Code (Learning Path): Work with senior engineers to write and maintain Terraform or Ansible scripts to automate environment setup.
- Environment Monitoring: Keep a watchful eye on system health dashboards, helping to identify and escalate performance bottlenecks before they affect the mission.
- Documentation: Create and maintain "Runbooks"—clear instructions that help the team understand how our cloud systems are configured.
- Containerization Basics: Support the team in moving applications into Docker containers and deploying them into Kubernetes environments.
