The Cloud Engineer is responsible for the modernization, performance, design, planning, securing, monitoring and integration of Enterprise Information Systems infrastructure and associated software utilizing the public cloud. Duties/Responsibilities: Under supervision, responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following essential functions: Design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems with a security focus Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with best practices Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and process functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements Interact with clients, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on client needs Educating and Mentoring teams on the implementation of cloud technologies and initiatives Lead the technical design, maintenance, and operation of cloud-based platforms (Azure and AWS) Will lead cloud-based Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity design, planning, and testing Assist with screening new projects and initiatives to ensure operational readiness Document and diagram processes, procedures, standards, and playbooks Ensure the service health for critical capabilities within IT is maintained Stay ahead of technological trends, constantly evaluating what’s best for the company Evaluates and researches new technologies that align with the strategic direction of IT and Sherwood Companies Possesses a continuous improvement mindset and proactively looks for opportunities to increase efficiencies, refine processes and reduce costs with internal IT processes as well as throughout the business Perform other duties as assigned
