Cloud Engineer

MomentNew York, NY

About The Position

Moment builds next-generation trading and portfolio management technology. Our core product suite includes high-throughput market data pipelines, automated smart order routing algorithms, real-time portfolio ledgering and position tracking, and high-cardinality portfolio optimization. Founded in 2023 by a team of quant traders and researchers from Citadel and Jane Street, we've raised over $100M in capital from Andreessen Horowitz, Index Ventures, and Lightspeed Venture Partners and now power mission critical workflows for financial institutions with over $8T+ of assets. At Moment, the Platform team’s job is to pave the road for success. We exist to help engineers move quicker, safer, and with deeper visibility. We treat our internal platform as a product, with our engineers as the customers. We are looking for an engineer who is skilled and experienced in Cloud infrastructure. You will report to the Platform team, serving as our infrastructure specialist. You will balance architectural design in AWS with the ability to ship actual code solutions, not just configuration files or Terraform. You will bridge the gap between Terraform modules and backend logic, ensuring our systems are resilient, automated, and capable of surviving regional failures.

Requirements

  • You are compassionate and empathetic to your customers: the developers at Moment. You hear them out, take feedback seriously, and ship solutions which help them.
  • You have 2+ years of AWS and Terraform experience, but you are also a capable coder. You can read and contribute to application code when debugging infrastructure issues. (Go experience is a major plus, but fluency in Python/Rust/Java is acceptable if you are willing to learn).
  • You have worked in a multi-region environment and understand the physics of distributed systems. You are ready to apply that knowledge to build a greenfield DR strategy.
  • You treat infrastructure as a product. You have a history of building tools that make developers' lives easier, and you take pride in writing clear, accessible guides for your tools.

  • Lead the Disaster Recovery initiative
  • Ship code
  • Architect "Golden Paths"
  • Own Reliability and On-Call

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision coverage
