We are seeking highly cleared professionals who excel at the intersection of advanced communications infrastructure, distributed systems, and mission assurance—where reliability, security, and performance are paramount. Specifically, we are looking for a TS/SCI cleared Cloud Engineer - Senior to support this mission at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. Responsibilities: As a Cloud Engineer - Senior, you will provide technical and management leadership for all equipment and information support functions across the Task Order. Your responsibilities include: Architects, designs, and leads the implementation of advanced technological solutions for mission-critical infrastructure in cloud environments, ensuring optimization to address emerging mission requirements and technological challenges. Drives the development of comprehensive cloud engineering strategies that enhance data management, computational capabilities, and technological scalability across various environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, GC2, mC2, DAF CLOUDworks). Functions as a technical expert in designing and implementing innovative cloud engineering approaches that significantly improve mission effectiveness and technological adaptability. Leads the maintenance and optimization strategies for Grizzly Cloud 2.0 (GC2) to support ISR data without relying on normal backhaul architecture. Oversees the support for sustaining the milCloud 2.0 Impact Level 5 (IL5) Landing Zone (LZ) network at various locations throughout the U.S. Directs the design, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and virtualization efforts for Government expeditionary C2 applications, including their migration between cloud (e.g., Grizzly Cloud 2.0) and expeditionary systems. Provides expert technical insights that enable continuous cloud infrastructure improvement and mission-focused technological innovation, including auto-scaling and AI/ML tools to optimize workloads and achieve real-time adaptive performance. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of cloud solutions, identifying trends, and recommending major changes to enhance resilience and optimize C2ISR capabilities. Mentors and supervises journeyman and junior Cloud Engineers, fostering skill development and ensuring consistency in solution quality and adherence to best practices. Collaborates strategically with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow) to ensure digital workflows, just-in-time provisioning, and application/data migration are optimized for cloud and tactical edge environments.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role supporting a DoD customer at the CCMD level
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience with a BS/BA degree or 6 years’ experience with a MS/MA or 4 years’ experience with a PhD. or 12 years' w/o a degree or 10 years' with AS/AA degree
  • A current, active DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level
  • US citizenship is required
  • DoD 8140 role for WRC: 451; Element: IT; Work Role: System Administrator; Proficiency Level: Intermediate/ ability to obtain

Nice To Haves

  • DoD-approved IA baseline certification for ADP-III/IT-III based on the IAT level and CE/Operating System (OS) certificate within six months of the assignment.
