About The Position

Praescient Analytics is seeking a Cloud Engineer, Mid to provide advanced technical expertise in the design, implementation, and modernization of DoD network and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network architecture and cloud technologies, with the ability to plan and execute secure, scalable, and resilient network solutions to support critical defense missions.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship and active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3-7 years of professional experience in network engineering, systems architecture, or cloud infrastructure support.
  • Hands-on experience with network design, configuration, and troubleshooting (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto).
  • Strong understanding of DoD network standards, DISA STIGs, and RMF processes.
  • Experience supporting cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or other DoD-accredited platforms).
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and services, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, routing, and switching.
  • Proven ability to work within secure DoD environments and maintain compliance with cybersecurity best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Security+, Network+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Administrator.
  • Experience with DoD enterprise networks, DISA infrastructure, or cloud migration within a classified environment.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, automation tools, and open-source technologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage secure computer and information networks, including LAN, WAN, intranets, extranets, and data communications systems in support of DoD mission environments.
  • Conduct network modeling, performance analysis, and capacity planning to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
  • Develop and implement network and cybersecurity measures compliant with DoD security standards and RMF (Risk Management Framework) requirements.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend network and data communications hardware, software, and emerging technologies to improve mission effectiveness.
  • Support cloud migration initiatives, including planning, evaluation, and execution of transitions to modern cloud-based architectures within DoD-compliant environments.
  • Assess and integrate cloud technologies, architectures, and data types while ensuring compliance with DoD cloud security frameworks.
  • Develop and administer implementation plans, configuration management, and development environments supporting secure system integration.
  • Leverage publicly available repositories, open-source frameworks, and standardized protocols to streamline development, enhance interoperability, and promote scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design network and cloud solutions that align with mission requirements and operational goals.
