NORC's Information Technology team is seeking a motivated Cloud Engineer II with hands-on experience in both AWS and Azure to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to grow their cloud engineering career in a multi-cloud environment. This is a hybrid role based in the Chicago Loop office, with a minimum of six days per month in the office. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related equivalent years of work experience.
  • At least 4 years of cloud engineering experience with direct exposure to both AWS and Azure cloud services.
  • In-depth understanding of cloud platform services, architecture, and best practices for both AWS and Azure.
  • Experience with Python scripting, build automation, and CI/CD processes.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, security principles, and compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience managing resources in a multi-account environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential.
  • Experience in developing infrastructure-as-code and build pipeline deployment practices.
  • Proficiency in cloud cost optimization and performance tuning.
  • Qualified applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Own tagging responsibilities and policies, clean up resources and cloud configuration duties across multi-cloud environments.
  • Design, implement, and maintain AWS/Azure cloud infrastructure to support growing business operations.
  • Work closely with other Cloud Engineers and technical teams to deploy and configure cloud services that meet the needs of internal project teams and business partners.
  • Collaborate, support, and communicate cross-functional needs to Cloud leaders to ensure scalable cloud solutions in the future.
  • Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies for multi-account cloud environments.
  • Develop infrastructure-as-code and build pipeline deployment practices.
  • Lead cloud cost optimization and performance tuning efforts.
  • Configure security policies and controls to adhere to client and government compliance requirements.
  • Stay up to date with AWS and Azure services, features, and best practices to contribute innovative ideas and solutions to the team.
  • Participate in training workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge in cloud engineering.
  • Lead monitoring and service availability across cloud environments.
