About The Position

Improvix Technologies is seeking a skilled and forward-thinking GCP Cloud Engineer to join our Federal IT team in Washington, DC. In this hands-on role, you’ll help architect, deploy, and manage secure, scalable, and mission-critical cloud solutions in support of a high-impact federal customer. You’ll work alongside talented engineers, security professionals, and government stakeholders to modernize systems, automate infrastructure, and bring DevOps best practices to life — all within a trusted, cleared environment. Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance (TS preferred).
  • 4+ years of cloud engineering experience , including at least 2 years working in GCP environments.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, VPC, IAM, GKE, and BigQuery .
  • Experience building infrastructure with Terraform, Ansible, or Deployment Manager .
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Cloud Build.
  • Solid understanding of Linux administration, networking, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Experience supporting Agile/Scrum development environments.

Nice To Haves

  • GCP Professional Cloud Architect or DevOps Engineer certification.
  • Experience supporting Federal Government programs and ATO processes.
  • Familiarity with AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
  • Scripting experience in Python, Bash, or Go .

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) .
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, Deployment Manager, or similar tools.
  • Support and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Cloud Build.
  • Collaborate with developers, cybersecurity experts, and government partners to streamline deployment workflows.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance to ensure uptime, reliability, and SLA compliance .
  • Implement federal cloud compliance standards (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST) and enforce best practices for security and governance.
  • Contribute to documentation, automation scripts, and internal knowledge sharing to support continuous improvement.
