About The Position

LS Technologies, a Tetra Tech Company, is seeking The FAA is seeking a Systems Engineer to serve as a Cloud DevOps Tech Support to provide technical support for cloud infrastructure and applications. The candidate will focus on resolving incidents, troubleshooting system issues, and assisting end-users with technical challenges in FAA cloud environments. The candidate will support operational stability, ensure compliance with FAA IT standards, and provide timely response to service desk tickets related to cloud and DevOps technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience providing hands-on technical support in IT, cloud, or systems administration.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with common DevOps tools (GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps).
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Basic scripting ability (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation of routine support tasks.
  • Experience responding to service desk tickets, resolving user issues, and documenting fixes.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with a customer service mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with monitoring and logging platforms (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk).
  • Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation).
  • Familiarity with federal IT security requirements (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST).
  • Industry certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, CompTIA Cloud+, or Network+

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first line of technical support for FAA cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and hybrid systems.
  • Respond to, investigate, and resolve service desk tickets related to cloud services, networking, and DevOps tools.
  • Troubleshoot user access issues, system connectivity problems, and application performance concerns.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior engineers while maintaining clear documentation of actions taken.
  • Provide day-to-day operational support including system monitoring, patching, and maintenance.
  • Assist with account management, role-based access control (RBAC), and security compliance.
  • Document troubleshooting procedures, lessons learned, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support system upgrades, migrations, and deployments under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Coordinate with FAA teams to ensure reliable and secure operation of cloud resources.
