We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer specializing in Hybrid Cloud, DevOps improvement, automation, and low-touch self-service capabilities. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in Kubernetes and related technologies. You will be instrumental in enhancing our hybrid cloud architecture, optimizing processes, and driving strategic DevOps solutions within our organization. They also enable platform teams to build infrastructure and deploy configurations without traditional administrative access. This role will help establish technical standards and patterns, create tools and automated workflow capabilities, and help platform teams build and deploy on-prem and cloud ecosystems that foster a high degree of innovation and enablement.

  • Containerization: Solid expertise with containerization technologies, such as Docker, Podman, EKS, AKS, GKE, and Kubernetes, to develop scalable and reliable cloud solutions.
  • Support Architecture and Development: Assist with the architecture, design, and integration of cloud services. Support the development and deployment pipelines to enhance performance and scalability across on-premises cloud environments.
  • Optimize Practices: Utilize industry and company best practices to improve system scalability, consistency, and infrastructure efficiency, reduce deployment times, and automate configuration management processes.
  • Collaborative Solutions: Collaborate with software engineering and DevOps teams to provide robust business solutions through strategic planning and implementation.
  • Integrate Security: Implement security and compliance measures using services such as OPA and declarative security tooling to safeguard our platform.
  • Operational Support: Provide ongoing operational support for our cloud platform, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
  • Administrative Proficiency: Demonstrate fluency with administrative tools and platforms including Red Hat Linux (RHEL7 or higher), Rafay, Rancher, or equivalent vendor solutions.
  • Troubleshooting Expertise: Address and resolve issues related to Kubernetes applications and infrastructure services on Linux-based operating systems.
  • Automation Frameworks: Showcase proficiency with automation frameworks, such as Ansible, Terraform, or Helm, to drive efficiency and reduce manual interventions.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Tools: Deploy, configure, and support CI/CD pipeline tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, and GitLab for streamlined development workflows.
  • Cloud Services Exposure: Gain exposure to leading cloud-based web services including Azure, AWS, and GCP, enhancing our cloud computing capabilities.
  • Networking Knowledge: Bring a strong understanding of networking concepts within Kubernetes environments, including Service Mesh, IO Ingress/Egress, and Container Network Interface (CNI).
  • Multi-Discipline Infrastructure: Bring experience with compute, networks, Container Storage Interface (CSI), and virtualization infrastructure.
  • Programming/Scripting Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in programming and scripting languages like Bash, Python, Java, and Perl to develop cloud-native solutions.
  • Platform Monitoring: Utilize monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Datadog to ensure systems performance and reliability.
  • Five years of experience supporting automating and monitoring platforms such as Kubernetes, PaaS
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience and/or alternative qualifications will be considered.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Relevant noncompulsory certifications such as CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator), CKS (Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist) are preferred.
