As a Cloud Data Engineer, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of CMS. You will play a crucial role in ensuring CMS and the application owners have the information needed to make the hybrid cloud efficient, effective, and secure. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT: Support activities related to implementing approaches for analyzing cost and usage information including modeling, visualization, reporting, and analytics. Collaborate with other Full-Stack Cloud, Data, Security, and FinOps experts to build on each other's skills and achieve program milestones Drive data collection, transformation and delivery, develop data models, develop governance and security, and apply machine learning with artificial intelligence to enhance data value Utilize AWS data lake, ETL, and analysis tools to develop and maintain data pipelines and accurately translate data models. Design, implement, test and maintain the ETL, ODBC, and/or API processes to ingest and prepare data for analysis Analyze internal and/or industry data using statistical techniques and provide reports/feedback Access data, cleanse data, perform statistical analysis, visualize data and communicate results Identify, analyze, and interpret trends in multiple data sets Assist with collecting and reviewing financial data from various Cloud sources Perform technical analysis to help Business Owners determine the impact of cloud adoption Providing financial analysis on AWS services to determine areas of optimization Create, maintain, update financial deliverables Data analysis using deep understanding of Cost and Usage reports Assist with validating and improving BI Dashboards (e.g., QuickSight, PowerBI) Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architectures. Develop and conduct tests to ensure data solutions meet documented user requirements. Collaborate with team to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes. Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs. Requirements

Education: Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
Required Experience: 2+ years of related experience
Required Technical Skills: Strong Python program language skills (boto3); Ability to run API queries on cost and billing data from multiple Cloud platforms; Experience with SQL queries; familiar with JSON & YAML; Experience in S3, Cost and Usage Data; Understanding of Cloud Technologies; Being able to look at a large data set and identify trends; General data model and data pipeline skills
Security Clearance Level: No clearance needed, however must be clearable for a public trust
Required Skills and Abilities: Effective communication skills both orally and written; Effective organizational skills; Experience with communicating complex data analysis clearly and understandably to people with no statistics or programming background
US Residency: Applicants shall have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years prior to submitting an application for a Federal ID Card
Working Hours: Monday-Friday 9am to 5:30pm eastern time. All resources on the program must support occasional incident/issue during non-core business hours.

Responsibilities
