About The Position

This role is ideal for a seasoned Cloud Data Architect who will lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale data platforms. You will drive the migration of complex data ecosystems from AWS to Azure, establish architectural standards, and ensure the platform supports a wide range of analytics, research, and investment use cases. The position combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical depth, engaging closely with both technical teams and executive stakeholders. You will define cloud-native architectures, implement governance frameworks, and optimize performance, security, and cost across data pipelines. This role offers an opportunity to influence long-term data strategy while mentoring engineers and shaping the organization’s data capabilities in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data platforms, with significant data architecture expertise.
• Proven experience defining and executing cloud migration strategies, ideally across AWS and Azure.
• Hands-on experience with Azure data services, Snowflake, Databricks, ETL/ELT design, and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow).
• Strong understanding of modern data architecture patterns including Lakehouse platforms, batch/streaming processing, data governance, and data quality frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; ability to engage hands-on when necessary.
• Experience with data modeling (3NF, dimensional, Data Vault) and analytical platform design.
• Exposure to investment management, asset management, or financial services environments; familiarity with market data products preferred.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to operate in consultative, high-stakes environments and influence strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the target cloud data architecture and migration strategy from AWS to Azure.
• Design end-to-end cloud-native solutions using Azure services, Snowflake, Databricks, and modern ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Establish architectural principles, standards, and reference architectures covering data ingestion, transformation, analytics, and security.
• Lead decision-making for batch and streaming data pipelines supporting both operational and research workloads.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analytics teams, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with business, investment, and research objectives.
• Guide and review solution designs to ensure adherence to architectural best practices.
• Integrate financial and market data providers (e.g., Bloomberg, LSEG, MSCI, FactSet) into the platform.
• Mentor engineers and architects, promote consistency, and drive engineering excellence across data initiatives.
