As a cloud computing application architect, you will build a cloud-based technical architecture that meets client needs and leverages cloud capabilities. Your role will involve designing a secure, cloud-based communications network to support mission-critical operations, improving client environments using current cloud technologies, and working with migration teams to inform strategy and design. You will recommend tools and solutions based on your research and knowledge of various resources, leading your team to help clients overcome challenges in the cloud. Additionally, you will broaden your skill set in automation and cloud-based security while developing critical systems for national defense.

  • Design a secure, cloud-based communications network to support mission-critical operations.
  • Use cloud architecture skills to improve delivery of satellite communications.
  • Work with migration teams to inform strategy and design, ensuring standards are met throughout the cloud migration process.
  • Recommend tools and solutions based on research of the current environment and knowledge of various resources.
  • Lead a team to help clients overcome challenges in the cloud.
  • Broaden skill set in areas like automation and cloud-based security.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud-native applications using microservices, serverless functions, API gateways, and containers (Docker and Kubernetes).
  • Experience designing and implementing computer and information networks (LAN, WAN, intranets, extranets).
  • Experience performing network modeling, analysis, and planning.
  • Experience in CI/CD pipeline development with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience in server automation using Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or SaltStack.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices (IAM, network security, data encryption, vulnerability management, security auditing).
  • Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems and 4+ years of experience in software engineering, or 9+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with space systems or satellite communications.
  • Experience with tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM Templates, or IaC technologies for infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Experience configuring and managing virtual networks, subnets, routing, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, and networking components in a cloud environment.
  • Knowledge of AWS Cloud Edge Global Access (CEGA) framework.
  • Ability to work in development environments using JavaScript and AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK).
  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • Master's degree.
  • AWS Certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate.
