About The Position

The Cloud Architect at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's cloud computing systems. This role involves developing cloud strategies, evaluating applications and hardware, and organizing cloud systems to meet operational needs. The Cloud Architect will collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Infrastructure teams to modernize environments, ensuring efficient data transfer and storage while maintaining security and accuracy.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferred in computer science, information systems, or related field.
• Five years' experience as a cloud architect or similar role.
• Relevant industry certifications such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.

Nice To Haves

• AWS, Azure, and GCP Certifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop cloud strategies and evaluate cloud applications and hardware.
• Organize cloud systems to meet operational needs of the organization.
• Design, build, and test cloud architecture for efficient data transfer and storage.
• Maintain information accuracy and security during bulk data transfers.
• Troubleshoot and solve technical issues as they arise.
• Vet cloud providers and third-party services for storage options within budget.
• Create standard operating procedures and policy documentation for data transfer and storage.
• Stay updated on current cloud computing solutions and processes.
• Provide guidance to cross-functional teams on cloud data access and usage.
• Serve as the cloud architect subject-matter expert for marketing and at company events.
• Participate in Architecture Review Board decision making.
